Calgary, AB – Former Canadian National Heavyweight Boxing Champion Matt Mychajliv is used to taking on the toughest of challenges in the prize ring but now the former pugilist is looking to try his hand in the fiercely competitive world of online social networking.
SuperstarKarma.com (or sskarma.com for short) is a groundbreaking new social media website that Mychajliv conceived and created where users are encouraged to share their stories about encounters with celebrities.
The idea came to Mychajliv after he worked with the likes of Samuel L. Jackson and Josh Hartnett on the 2007 motion picture “Resurrecting the Champ” which was filmed in Calgary, Canada.
“My opinion of both Jackson and Hartnett prior to meeting them was about the same,” Mychajliv explained. “After interacting with them on set I found my opinion of Hartnett had gone way up. He was humble, down to earth and friendly. Jackson on the other hand, was the exact opposite. When I got home that night, the idea hit me... it would be a great idea if people had an outlet to share their experiences of meeting celebrities with one another online. SuperstarKarma.com gives everyone that opportunity.”
With user friendly functionality similar to that of YouTube and other popular social networking sites, visitors to SSKarma.com can view and upload videos about celebrity encounters in addition to being able to rate and comment on them.
The spectrum of encounters ranges from superstar actors, athletes and musicians to more local personalities like politicians and television personalities... and everyone in-between.
The site allows users to share their experiences meeting celebrities and provides an outlet to share both positive and negative feedback about the encounter with friends, family and the world at large.
Whether visitors are looking to share their own stories or view the exciting encounters of others, SuperStarKarma.com is certain to provide an online entertainment experience that caters to everyone’s interests.
The project has been years in the making for Mychajliv, who has laboured to raise funding for market research, web design and extensive beta testing.
After a test phase late last year yielded an immense amount of positive feedback the site is ready to launch into the mainstream with high hopes it will go viral.
“SSKarma.com is the place to go if you’ve ever met a celebrity and want to share your experience,” Mychajliv said. “In speaking to many people over the years I’ve found that when someone meets a celebrity a few things happen. Their perception of that celebrity changes in either a positive or negative way, they want to share the experience with everyone they know, and it’s most often an experience they’ll never forget. SuperStarKarma.com now gives people an outlet to share their stories with the world!”
